CRC Tournaments

The inaugural Cancer Research Classic was held December 15, 2007. Competing in that event were three local teams and seven national ones. Since that snowy Friday evening, the Classic has developed into a premier national showcase featuring top ranked teams and expanded into a three- day event with games broadcast by ESPN.

The Classic is kicked-off with a ceremonial dinner Thursday evening featuring a nationally prominent guest speaker. Games tip-off Friday afternoon and culminate with the ESPN aired games Saturday evening. You have the chance to enjoy future Division 1 and NBA stars in action.

The Cancer Research Classic provides an opportunity not only to watch some of the most talented high school basketball teams and players in the country, but also an environment to discuss and disseminate pertinent health care information including cancer screenings, the treatment of urologic malignancies, such as prostate and testicular cancers, cardiovascular health, and smoking cessation.

Proceeds from the Cancer Research Classic help fund ongoing prostate cancer and men's health research at the Urologic Research Institute and academic scholarships for undergraduate students enrolled at Wheeling Jesuit University.
