Men's Health

As exercise and diet have become recognized as the basis for overall general health and well-being, the Men's Health Center was set-up as the community outreach arm of the Urologic Research Institute, both of Wheeling Hospital. Health fairs and education programs concentrate on cancer awareness, screening and prevention and men's health issues. Annually, hundreds of prostate-specific antigen cancer screenings, total cholesterol and glucose checks for men are provided free-of-charge.

The Annual Men's Health Forum is conducted and held in conjunction with the Cancer Research Classic. Educational materials distributed to the public focus on all aspects of men's health concerns: cancer, heart disease, diabetes, weight management and sexual health. Free health screenings for men conducted by Wheeling Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program are available at the forum, including PSA, cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, oral cancer and dental care.

Ten Steps for Men to Enjoy a Fuller, Healthier Life is the basis of the Men's Health Center educational programs. The steps are outlined below followed by a list of informational links per topic.
